Chelsea had 27 players on loan during this season, thats a whole squad of players

Here we will look at some of them, where they played and their likely fates for next season

Ryan Bertrand – Aston Villa- Loaned out despite our lack of cover for Ashley Cole at LB with Azpiliqueta drafted in to cover where he flourished – Likely to be sold in the summer

Thibaut Coutois – Athletico Madrid – Spent his 3rd season in Madrid and exceeded expectations so much that he is already one of the worlds best keepers – Chelsea 1st team

Todd Kane – Blackburn Rovers – Established himself as Blackburns 1st choice RB before a Injury ruined the 2nd half of the season –  Sent back out on loan

Romelu Lukaku – Everton – Another good season for the big man from Belgium, Needs to sharpen his skills and instincts with the media though – Chelsea 1st team squad

Matej Delac –  FK Sarejevo – Big hope for the young man when signed but hasn’t progressed as much as club would have liked and now too many in front of him – Another loan or sold outright

Wallace – Inter Milan –  Sent straight out on loan after purchasing him, had offer from Benfica but he chose Inter where it didn’t go well for him, hardly played at all – Sent back out on loan, perhaps to Vitesse

Victor Moses – Liverpool – Surprisingly sent to Liverpool where he failed to impress – Another loan or sold outright

Kenneth Omeruo – Middlesbrough – Defender with a lot of potential spent the season getting 1st team experience in the championship – 1 more season loan to a premier league team

Nataniel Chalobah – Middlesbrough- England U/21 international with a big future spent season in Championship – Needs to gain Premiership experience so another loan

Marco Marin – Sevilla – After an injury plagued season at Stamford Bridge he was sent to La Liga where Sevilla have already announced they aren’t interested in extending or buying outright – Sold outright 610x1000

Kurt Zouma – St. Etienne – Highly prized young defender who was purchased in January and sent straight back to St. Etienne, Big things expected – Chelsea 1st team squad

Oriol Romeu – Valencia – Started well under AVB but a few injuries added onto a few bad performances had him loaned back to spain at the start of the season  where he played well – Sold outright to spain

Patrick Van Aanholt – Vitesse – Spent the season impressing for Vitesse and with cole leaving is a chance for the reserve LB position  – Chelsea 1st team squad

Lucas Piazon – Vitesse – Set the world on fire in the 1st half of the Dutch League before fading in the 2nd half, budding superstar – Loan to a premiership club

Christian Atsu – Vitesse – Purchased from Porto and immediately loaned to Vitesse where he was a key performer for the Dutch side – Another loan

Bertrand Traore – Vitesse – Finally able to officially sign for Chelsea and had a great pre-season, got sent to Vitesse for 2nd half of the season where he did some good things – Back to Vitesse

Josh McEachran – Wigan – Made his 1st team debit at 17 but has stalled in counless loans and now its going to be a very long road back – Loan or sold Outright

Thorgan Hazard – Zulte Waregem – Belgium’s player of the year, Eden’s little brother has blossomed and has a few people asking who will be the better Hazard brother – Loan to a Premiership club after going on the pre-season tour

  1. I’m not sure about Coutois & Lukaku. If Torres & Ba not be sold, Lukaku probably will be loan or sold. If Cech not give up for his position, Coutois also will be loan & sold.

  2. Its totally possible with Lukaku, but there is no way Coutois is going anywhere, Cech will be sold before Courtois goes out again

  3. Sorry, but I have some reservations over bringing zouma in so quickly. We already have centre back cover in kalas, and even he doesn’t get the game time he needs to develop properly (but now luiz has left he should get enough). If zouma comes in immediately, he is unlikely to displace cahill-terry, so it will only impede his develop to be a great player. maybe wait another season, give him epl experience, and maybe then terry will play a more bit-part role.

  4. its official kalas is going on loan in budesliga.

  5. Yu dint mention bamford? He claimed Mou wants him to be 3rd choice striker and according to what I hrd, Mou fancies him a lot (at least more than lukaku). Yu can never predict these things. This is Chelsea, anything can happen.
